(12 October 2001, Cebu)
Beautiful moments come in passing.
At the start, we bathe in their blessings
Then realizing they’re temporal
We desperately cling to the images
Imprinted in our memories
Of picture perfect scenes slowly fading.
I thought they’ll last forever.
Slowly they have come to wither
Succumbing to all the conflicts within me.
Now I am trying to repaint the pictures.
Wishing to recapture the vivid colors.
Like assembling the notes of a broken song,
Failing to recollect puts it out of tune.
When the colors have lost their vibrance
Shades become lifeless in proud brilliance.
I need to be still.
To collect the fragments and to heal.
To take time appreciating
For beautiful moments come in passing.
